>>Royal Belgian Society for ENT and HNS annual congress : "New frontiers in pediatric otorhinolaryngology"

The 108th Congress of the Royal Belgian Society for Ear, Nose and Throat, Head & Neck Surgery has a clear pediatric orientation. With New Frontiers as a general theme, the aim is to highlight recent advances in this field that often bring revolutions in our standard practice.

Four sessions are respectively devoted to Airway Management, Nasal Surgery, General Otolaryngology and Cochlear Implantation. There will be many video demonstrations by leading International and Belgian experts, with time set aside for the exchange of experiences and ideas between all participants. In each field, the developments of the last few years have had a major impact on the quality of our patients' lives.

The Annual Report, coordinated by Professor Christian Desloovere on Neonatal Hearing Screening, will examine the organization and the results of the screening program in 2013, both in Belgium and abroad.

The program includes for the second year the new B-Audio Group, which under the Presidency of Professor Jan Wouters, will provide 4 sessions on audiology: from audiology and hearing instruments to general audiology and clinical audiology.

Last but not least, the B-Rhino Group, under the Presidency of Professor Stephan Vlaminck, will present a consensus session on Maxillary Fungus Ball Pathology.

Our congress is a unique opportunity to meet colleagues from all over the world and to share in their remarkable experience.

By housing our meeting at the Royal Library of Belgium, we will immerse ourselves in the historical and cultural center of our capital, and we look forward to making you discover one of its hidden jewels, the next-door superb Charles de Lorraine Palace, for an interlude of period music on Friday night.

Our hope is that this meeting will trigger improvements in our daily practice for the well being of our patients that is the foundation of our professional engagement and remains the principal focus of our work.

My warmest welcome to you all,

Anne-Laure Mansbach
President of the Royal Belgian Society for Ear, Nose & Throat, Head & Neck Surgery 2013
