Presentation of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit

For whom?

The Unit welcomes young adolescents aged 8 to 14 who are experiencing significant psychological distress requiring a transitional institutional setting, when the limits of outpatient care have been exceeded. We also accommodate two crisis situations for a short period of care as part of the new child and adolescent mental health policy.

How?

We provide crisis care and a child and adolescent psychiatric, psychological, institutional, educational and social assessment, with a view to developing a specific care plan. The family or close circle of support are actively involved in the care process. Collaboration with the external care network is supported throughout the hospital stay.
Various activities enable the adolescent’s difficulties to be explored: individual and family care, therapeutic groups, and sports, creative and artistic activities. Collaboration with the Robert Dubois Team (special education, type 5, hospital school) enables educational activities to continue and learning difficulties to be assessed.
